    9-1-1 for Kids

    9-1-1 for Kids® is the official caller training education program for the United States, Canada and the Cayman Islands, all countries which use 9-1-1 as its universal emergency number. The program teaches students how to save lives & property and respond to disaster situations through the proper use of 9-1-1. The 9-1-1 foe Kids program is implemented by local, federal and international public safety: dispatch centers, agencies and organizations throughout schools, youth organizations & activities and community events. The organization is endorsed and supported by: APCO International (Assn. of Public Safety Communications Officials), NENA (National Emergency Numbers Assn.) and NASNA (National Assn. of Nine-one-one Administrators). The mission of 9-1-1 For Kids® is to teach children how to save lives and property through the proper use of 9-1-1, the nation's universal emergency telephone number, “9-1-1 Caller Training.” The organization is lead by: International Ambassador-Kathy Ireland (CEO, Kathy Ireland Worldwide, lifestyle designer, author, retired actress/super-model), International Chairman-Tim Brown (retired Oakland Raiders captain, 1987Heisman Trophy receipient from Notre Dame); Founding Chairman Emeritus-Howie Long (Fox NFL Shw, NFL Hall of Fame Inductee); International Youth Spokespersons-Jessica Simpson (Actress/Recording Artist) & Patrick Long (motorsports driver, Porsche Factory driver) and Honorary President - Shaquille O’Neal (NBA star). Founded in 1990 and incorporated as a non-profit educational foundation in 1994, 9-1-1 for Kids® was developed by a collaboration of private and government public safety officials and suppliers to address the catastrophic problems and financial waste resulting from the alarming number of abandoned, misused and prank calls to 9-1-1, very often made by young people.
