    The Migration Policy Institute (MPI) is a Washington-based nonpartisan think-tank devoted to the study of national and international migration policies. Working closely with researchers, practitioners and policymakers, MPI aims to: 1) promote a better understanding of migration trends and their effects on the countries and communities that send or receive migrants; 2) provide a forum for exchange of information on and discussion of migration policies in the United States and abroad; 3) develop and promote policy alternatives designed to maximize the benefits and minimize the challenges associated with large-scale movements of people; and 4) identify, study, and evaluate the integration of migrants into their new communities.
