    2010 Fall Associate

    RESPONSIBILITIES: * Assist in program development, such as with Chapter Programs featuring high-level panelists and workgroup programs * Assist in planning, logistics, sponsorship and ticketing management for the 2010 Annual Dinner and 2011 World Congress * Assist with SID-Washington's more than 20 sectoral and regional workgroups; * Write about the Chapter’s program and Workgroup activities to be published on our website; * Develop outreach materials * Add to and maintain our membership database; * Assist with various communications initiatives * Perform general administrative duties (including answering phones, handling mail, drafting correspondence, etc.) QUALIFICATIONS: * Academic and/or work experience in international development preferred * Ability to solve problems creatively, undertake detail oriented work, and work well as a member of a team * Possess initiative and the ability to work independently * Able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment and retain a positive outlook under pressure * Excellent written and oral communications skills * Very strong organizational and interpersonal skills * Sense of humor required. A STIPEND OF $1,250 IS PROVIDED UPON COMPLETION OF INTERNSHIP.     The Society for International Development (SID), founded in Washington, D.C. in 1957, is a global forum of individuals and institutions concerned with sustainable economic, social, and political development.
