    Campaigns Internship

    Training for Corporate Campaigning An internship program of Corporate Accountability International Corporate Accountability International is a membership organization that protects people by waging and winning campaigns challenging irresponsible and dangerous corporate actions around the world. Through bold campaigns and a commitment to win, Corporate Accountability International and its members have scored major victories that protect people and save lives. For over 30 years, we’ve forced corporations—like Nestlé, General Electric and Philip Morris/Altria—to stop irresponsible and dangerous actions. You may be the right person for an exciting internship with Corporate Accountability International! This is a skills-building internship program, in which interns will take on significant projects to advance Corporate Accountability International’s mission, including our Think Outside the Bottle Campaign, challenging corporate control of water, and our Value [the] Meal campaign, challenging corporate abuse of our food. The projects will be coupled with training sessions with a variety of staff members and guest trainers. Sample training topics include action planning, campaign research, media outreach, fundraising, recruitment, direct pressure tactics, and many others. DETAILS: Location: Campaign Headquarters: 10 Milk Street, Suite 610, Boston, MA 02108 Length of Internship: Spring Semester or Summer Hours: Spring: Minimum commitment of 8 hours /week during school semester with occasional additional hours for campaign events. Summer: Minimum commitment of 40 hours / week for 10 weeks with occasional additional hours for campaign events. Major responsibilities: • Works most closely with the National Organizers to organize activists at the local, regional, national or international level • Outreach to targeted constituencies to get people involved in the Think Outside the Bottle Campaign: www.ThinkOutsidetheBottle.org and our Value [the] meal campaign www.ValueTheMeal.org and to develop Corporate Accountability International’s core of activists. • Responding to requests for information • Designing and layout of organizing materials Qualifications: • Dem onstrated commitment to corporate accountability and/or progressive social change • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills • Organizational skills and the ability to juggle several tasks while meeting deadlines • Good political analysis • Experience in a high-energy campaign or non-profit setting preferable • Commitment to bringing the campaign back to your campus or community • Able to commit to the timeframe of the internship
