    Fall 2007 Events Intern

    The Events Intern works primarily with the Development Director and closely with the Development Intern to complete donor research, contact donors via phone and plan fundraising events including small house parties and our annual Roe v. Wade Celebration & Silent Auction. Responsibilities include: • Research potential and current donors • Phone bank at least once a month • Assist with event planning (house parties, fundraisers, etc.) • Recruit donors for the Roe v. Wade Silent Auction • Recruit a speaker and/or entertainment for the Roe v. Wade Celebration • Research and build list of possible event locations across the state Qualifications: • Must be fully pro-choice and committed to ensuring all women have access to the full range of reproductive health care including abortion • Comfort using Microsoft Word & Excel • Ability to think creatively and work independently • Long term planning skills • Development experience preferred but by no means necessary Hours: 10-15 hours per week, some hours after regular business hours Length of Internship: September to January 24 (except winter break) Unpaid, however, staff will work with intern to obtain college credit.
