This is a skills-building internship program, in which interns will take on significant projects to advance Corporate Accountability International’s mission, including our Think Outside the Bottle Campaign, challenging corporate control of water, and our Value [the] Meal campaign, challenging corporate abuse of our food. The projects will be coupled with training sessions with a variety of staff members and guest trainers. Sample training topics include action planning, campaign research, media outreach, fundraising, recruitment, direct pressure tactics, and many others.
Online Internship Job Description: The Online Intern will be supporting the Communications Team in updating the websites, sending online communications to members and activists, updating and organizing on social networking sites. The Online Assistant will also be supporting the Communications Team in implementing strategic online plans to raise public awareness for Corporate Accountability International’s campaign work.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Website editing and maintenance,
• Updating and organizing on social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Flickr and YouTube,
• General outreach to targeted websites and blogs,
• Internet research,
• Database maintenance,
• Graphics & film editing,
• Overall assistance with administration of the online program; and
• Participate in campaign and organizational building activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Dem onstrated commitment to corporate accountability and/or progressive social change
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good organizational skills, attention to detail, professional demeanor and the ability to juggle several tasks while meeting deadlines
• Good computer skills and tech-savvy.
• Active on social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and YouTube.
• Website editing experience preferred – training will also be given.
• Graphics and multimedia editing experience – training will also be given.
• Able to work in a team but also with initiative to work on your own.
• Experience in a high-energy campaign or non-profit setting preferable
• Able to commit to the timeframe of the internship

Location: Campaign Headquarters: 10 Milk Street, Suite 610, Boston, MA 02108
Length of Internship: Spring Semester
Hours: Minimum commitment of 8 hours /week with occasional additional hours for events. Days are flexible depending on student schedule and internship manager needs.
Compensation: This is an unpaid internship
Training: Will receive training from experienced staff
