    Program Officer Assistant Internship

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Under the general supervision of the Executive Director of Femmes Africa Solidarité (FAS) and the Pan- African Centre Programme Officer, the Programme Officer Intern will be responsible for assisting in formulating, planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating FAS's projects in support of its programme for engendering the peace process in Africa. MISSIONS · Assisting the Programme Officer in coordinating the activities of the Regional Office, including drafting and preparing periodic plans of action, strategic plannings, chronogram of activities and team-building agendas; · Helping to design and formulate project methodology of FAS's activities as well as solidarity missions, training workshops and other capacity building measures particularly in the Mano River and Great Lakes regions; ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES · Preparing supporting documentation for external meetings and FAS events and drafting minutes, activity reports and any other follow up documentation; OTHER DUTIES · Assisting in the development and preparation of project proposals, grant submissions and other fundraising activities.     Femmes Africa Solidarite

    Femmes Africa Solidarité (FAS) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) working to engender the peace process in Africa. Since its inception in 1996, FAS has worked to foster, strengthen and promote the leading role of women in the prevention, management and resolution of conflicts on the African continent. FAS works to strengthen the capacities of grassroots women's organizations so that they can participate fully in the processes of peacebuilding and conflict resolution in their countries and communities. FAS has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and observer status with the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights (ACHPR). It is also represented in the African Union Women's Committee and the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA). In addition, FAS chairs the Geneva Working Group on Women, Peace and Security, which works to monitor the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325.
