This is a skills-building internship program, in which interns will take on significant projects to advance Corporate Accountability International’s mission, including our Think Outside the Bottle Campaign, challenging corporate control of water, and our Value [the] Meal campaign, challenging corporate abuse of our food. The projects will be coupled with training sessions with a variety of staff members and guest trainers. Sample training topics include action planning, campaign research, media outreach, fundraising, recruitment, direct pressure tactics, and many others.
Recruitment Internship Job Description: Corporate Accountability International is building our team of staff and we’re seeking a Recruitment Intern to assist in implementing an outreach program to identify and hire top-notch organizers, fundraisers, researchers, and administrators, from entry-level to senior staff positions. The Recruitment Intern will play a key role in the program by ensuring that all new job openings are publicized broadly on websites and listserves to reach the best potential candidates, and by acknowledging, evaluating, and processing all incoming job applications.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• The Recruitment Intern will post, update, and monitor current job announcements on various websites and listserves. Updating and organizing on social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Flickr and YouTube,
• Liaise with support staff of various job websites—asking them questions when necessary and keeping records of where and when positions are posted,
• Keep organized, updated, and concise records of all website and listserve job postings,
• Under the supervision of the Senior Recruitment Organizer, the Recruitment Intern will organize, evaluate, and process job applications (including cover letters and résumés),
• Keep organized, updated, and concise records of all job applications.
• Correspond directly with applicants; and
• Participate in campaign and organizational building activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• D emonstrated commitment to corporate accountability and/or progressive social change
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good organizational skills, attention to detail, professional demeanor and the ability to juggle several tasks while meeting deadlines
• Experience in a high-energy campaign or non-profit setting preferable
• Able to commit to the timeframe of the internship

Length of Internship: Fall Semester – September 20 through December 17
Hours: Minimum commitment of 8 hours /week with occasional additional hours for events. Days are flexible depending on student schedule and internship manager needs.
Compensation: This is an unpaid internship
Training: Will receive training from experienced staff
