Interns should be working toward or have recently completed a degree in Biology, Entomology, Performing Arts, Communications, or related field with at least a 2.5 GPA. If the internship is for college credit, the number of hours is set by the college. The Butterfly House requires interns to contribute a minimum of 140 hours per internship. Interns are required to work a minimum of one four (4) hour shift per week and not to exceed sixteen (16) hours per week. The Butterfly House can be flexible concerning the number of hours and the design of your internship, based on prior written proposals with an agreement from the area supervisor. Interns are also required to complete a project (or portfolio) that will be informally presented to The Butterfly House staff towards the end of the internship.

The Butterfly House, a division of the Missouri Botanical Garden, is a tropical conservatory with 1200 free flying butterflies located in Chesterfield, Missouri. In addition to the conservatory we have an exhibit gallery, native habitat, events pavillion, and offer a variety of educational programs for all ages. We are looking for individuals who are interested in working with invertebrates, plants, and children.
